Exact Beltrami flows in a spherical shell

چکیده

Abstract Exact flows of an incompressible fluid satisfying the Beltrami equation inside a spherical shell are constructed in Cartesian coordinates terms elementary functions. Two scale-invariant equations defining two infinite series eigenvalues λ n and λ ̃ m ${\tilde {\lambda }}_{m}$ operator curl with nonpenetration boundary conditions on spheres derived. The corresponding eigenfields presented explicit form their symmetries investigated. Asymptotics at , m → ∞ obtained.

Variational Beltrami flows over manifolds

We study, in this paper, the problem of denoising images/data which are defined over non-flat surfaces. This problem arises often in many medical imaging tasks. The Beltrami flow which was defined in an explicit-intrinsic manner is generalized here to non-flat surfaces and is defined in an implicit way. We formulate the flow in a variational way which is generalized to a scalar field defined ov...

Beltrami States for Compressible Barotropic Flows

Beltrami states for compressible barotropic flows are deduced by minimizing the total kinetic energy while keeping the total helicity constant. A Hamiltonian basis for these Beltrami states is also sketched.

Convection patterns in a spherical fluid shell.

Symmetry-breaking bifurcations have been studied for convection in a nonrotating spherical shell whose outer radius is twice the inner radius, under the influence of an externally applied central force field with a radial dependence proportional to 1/r(5). This work is motivated by the GeoFlow experiment, which is performed under microgravity condition at the International Space Station where t...

Their dynamical behaviour can appear chaotic. I will explore this behaviour from the point of view of nonlinear d...
